The Academic Provision of the University
Caledonia University’s teaching and learning strategies are designed to help students develop academic knowledge and understanding, independent thought and creative ability, interpersonal and cross cultural skills as well as professional competencies.
Our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are conducted on a modular system. The flexibility of a modular system enables students to accumulate their credits as they progress in their respective programs.
What is the Modular System?
In simple terms, it is a way of organizing the curriculum so that students can accumulate credits for each module or course component studied. This means that students can clearly see their progress as they pass their module assessments and gain credits along the way.
In our fully modular undergraduate Bachelors Degree Program, students would require 120 credits to graduate, whereas the postgraduate Masters Degree Program requires another 36 accumulated credits for a student to graduate.
Exemptions
The advantage of our modular credit system is that the syllabus and course curriculum for each module are clearly defined.
Students who have already taken a higher education course in another university can submit the syllabus studied and can earn credit recognition or exemptions for parts which are equivalent to modules available on Caledonia’s modular system. This enables students to be considered for direct entry into our undergraduate Final Year Top-Up Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree Completion Program (DCP) or exemptions on the Masters program.

Caledonia University is a leading provider of professional business and management programs through our Business School. Our academic staff have worked on research projects over the years and have developed curriculum programs with our international colleagues.
