In the United of States of America, accreditation is a voluntary process and universities are normally accredited by their peers, grouped together to form an independent accreditation body.

Caledonia University also practices an internal accreditation process commonly referred and known as the Self-Accreditation System. In a Self-Accreditation System setting, an internal Accreditation Body is formed comprising of all the faculties in the university. The internal accreditation body would audit and accredit a particular faculty that is going through its annual mandatory internal Quality Assurance System.

Due to the university’s Self-Accreditation System, students enrolled in the University are ensured of the highest standards of quality assurance control practiced by Caledonia University. This is further reflected in multi-national companies' sponsorship of students that are studying in the University.
